Who is Jino Kim?

Jino Kim was born on October 31, 1995, in South Korea as the first child of a musician family. His mother is a former solo idol and a graduate of the South Korean Traditional Dance Department. His father has been involved in music throughout his life and currently works as a professor in the Applied Music Department at Baeksok Art University.

Jino started break dancing at the age of 11 but turned to ballet on doctor’s advice after suffering a spinal injury during a performance.

He passed the entrance exam for the “Seoul Arts High School,” the most famous art school in South Korea, and represented South Korea by going to Switzerland for an international ballet competition where he ranked 11th. Later, he won the 2nd prize in the Korea International Ballet Competition. He also spent his high school years at “Loen Entertainment,” the agency affiliated with singer and actress IU.

After graduating from high school, he was accepted into “K-Arts University,” ranked first among South Korea’s most prestigious art schools. He put his studies on hold to pursue television programs and started his television career.

He participated in popular shows such as “Dancing9,” “Superstar K,” and “Mixnine” Afterwards, he continued his education and graduated in 2019.

That same year, he performed in the Riyadh K-pop dance tour in Saudi Arabia and later appeared on the opening stage of Mamamoo and rapper Kim Haon at the Kookmin University festival.

In 2021, he joined the dance team “Just Color Studio,” founded by Super Junior member Shindong, and then continued his career as a solo artist under the stage name “The New V.”

During this process, he dedicated the names of his 6 albums to his girlfriend, Asya. Handling processes such as lyrics, music, recording, and arrangement on his own, he updated his stage name to Jino Kim as of 2022 and established JNK Entertainment company. He continues to actively pursue his music career to this day.
