Popular K-Pop Group mimiirose Answered Our Questions About Their Latest Albums And More!
We talked to the popular K-Pop group mimiirose about their latest comeback album “LIVE”, their songs, their fans, their thoughts on Turkish fans, their idol lives and more. The pleasant interview where you will get to know mimiirose better is now here!
1. It’s been a year since your debut, and you made your first comeback in September. Congratulations! How did it feel to make a comeback after such a long time? What changed for you during this process?
YeonJae: I felt very serious since our comeback took quite a long time! I was also excited to show different aspects of us to bloomiis and I believe mimiirose has improved the quality of our music and performance. We will continue to move forward and grow. I would like to share special music with bloomiis in the future.
YeWon: It was exciting to meet our fans and to be on stage after a long break. We practiced hard during our preparation period to make our fans proud to be a fan of mimiirose. Maybe we embraced a bit more fierceness compared to our first album?
YunJu: I was happy to be able to bring new songs to bloomiis after a long gap. I worked hard by researching and taking better care of myself to come back with a new concept during our break.
2. We’d like to hear about your new mini album, LIVE. You introduced it with FLIRTING, but which song do the members like the most? How did you prepare for this single?
YeonJae: I like “TIPSY” the most. I think it has various features which make the song interesting. We also had fun preparing three songs with different vibes.
HyoRi: Our second single album, “LIVE,” has a different concept compared to our first album. It shows our determination to flirt with the public as we have become five villain-like characters. I personally like the B-side track, “A-OK,” the most because of the last part of the song where all of our members shout out “I’m OK.” It somehow touches me and makes me remember the faces of our members every time I listen to it. That is why this song has become my favorite one.
JiA: Personally, my favorite song is “A-OK.” It has a melancholic vibe which I find precious. That is why I picked this song as my favorite.
3. During the filming of the “FLIRTING” music video or your appearances on music shows for promotions, do you have any “special” moments or thoughts you’d like to share with your fans?
YeonJae: I made eye contact with bloomiis who have been supporting us since our first album promotion during our first showcase at the music show. At that moment, I had an unexplainable feeling and appreciation for bloomiis for waiting for such a long time for us. I still can’t forget that feeling I had.
YeWon: I remember our fans shouting fan chants during our music show performances. Having in-ear headphones makes it hard to hear things on stage, but their chant came through the music which made me very happy.
YunJu: It was a meaningful time for me to be able to try acting during the “FLIRTING” music video filming. The final version of our music video was amazing thanks to the director. I also remember being extremely happy and excited when I heard bloomiis’ chanting through my in-ear monitors.
4. If someone is going to listen to mimiirose for the first time, how would you describe your group and music? Which song would you recommend?
YeonJae: mimiirose is a rookie idol group that debuted in September 2022. The group name is a combination of mimiimii, meaning beauty, and rose. As you can tell from the meaning of the name, we have a beautiful image. If you listen to our song, you will notice attractive vocals and exciting choreography. I recommend listening to our title song, “Rose,” from our first album, if you have never heard our songs before!
HyoRi: We are like a hidden treasure. Although not many people know about us, we have our special values. Our songs, like “FLIRTING,” also have a unique vibe that is not that widespread. In other words, we are outstanding. I recommend giving a shot to mimiirose and “FLIRTING” if you want something new!
JiA: We are a group with songs that have various and diverse feelings! I would like to describe our group as one that doesn’t resemble anyone else. I highly recommend “A-OK” among our various songs.
YeWon: mimiirose is a group with diverse charms and our songs have their own unique identity. Our B-side track, “A-OK,” has a therapeutic quality to it. So I would like to recommend “A-OK!”
YunJu: Instead of getting stuck in a single frame, we will devote ourselves to showing better and improved versions of ourselves in every aspect. I like every single song of mimiirose, so I hope you’ll give all of them a try!
5. Lastly, is there anything you’d like to say to the followers of White Entertainment and your Turkish fans who will be reading this interview?
